News for the Village – December 2013
Chainhurst – Marden – New York
On 3rd November, Miranda Pigott of Travel Finders completed the New York Marathon! Miranda ran in aid of The Kent Air Ambulance Trust.
“It was a fairly daunting affair being in a foreign city having only just started running in May. However I am happy to say I completed the Marathon in 5 hours. It was a wonderful moment to cross the finish line, feeling relief that the pain and hard work had paid off!!!”
Saturday 7th December saw Marden’s Christmas Fair return for 2013. The day included a craft fair, Morris dancers, a raffle and children’s face painting. Father Christmas even dropped by!
The MBF was proud to have provided the Grotto gifts for the children.
Housing Developments
Marden was designated to build an extra 320 homes as part of Government Policy, but this figure is likely to increase as a result of Maidstone Borough Council local plans.
All applications are discussed by the Parish Council in public, so to find the next meeting and voice your opinion visit the Marden PC website
