Marden ‘Big Musical Picnic’
As I am sure you are aware, every year Marden Village has a picnic in the park – on Marden’s Southons Field, which is a cross between a family fun day, a fete and last night of the proms!! Though naturally not in the Royal Albert Hall! It is a charity fundraiser for the Friends of Marden’s Heritage. We raise funds for the History Group and the Heritage Centre, please visit our website (friends@mardenhistory.org.uk) for more details ! We have very recently become a registered charity with the Charities Commission (reg charity number: 1160682).
This years’ Big Musical Picnic is on Saturday 6th June and will run from 3.30 – 8.30pm. There will be stalls, children’s games and races, refreshments, a BBQ, lots of amazing singing organised by Mo and Rachel Gillis- Coates, tug-o-war, creative activities, a bouncy castle and more!
We will also be running a raffle and this is the reason I am writing this letter!! We are contacting local businesses, and asking for a raffle prize or for sponsors to come forward in support of the event. A raffle prize could be a specific service that your business offers (which would hopefully inspire lots of people to buy raffle tickets), or simply a gift donated in your business name. Sponsorship would be a financial contribution (please do not think this needs to be a large amount, small and medium contributions are very much appreciated too!) which would help with the Picnic overheads, thereby allowing us to raise more for the charity.
If you are very kindly able to help, we would arrange to come and collect anything that is not easily posted, at your convenience. Your business would also get a mention in the programme as one of our generous sponsors/raffle prize givers, and thanking you for your support!
