A group of residents have recently come together to form a ‘Marden in Bloom’ Group which has the endorsement of the Parish Council and whose aim is to enhance the appearance of the village
The Group’s first step is to become a member of ‘Britain in Bloom‘, an organisation set up by the Royal Horticultural Society who get involved in various projects such as caring for local parks and squares, helping to establish school gardens and run wildlife projects.
The Group’s initial mission is to brighten up Marden by installing village planters/troughs, installing hanging baskets on lamp posts and encouraging residents and retailers to keep their frontages clean and tidy. If successful this may encourage more visitors to our lovely village of Marden.
We will be contacting you again in the next month or two with some ideas about how you could help; perhaps by sponsoring a planter, providing labour to install hanging baskets, Marden in Bloom signage, funding towards a Village Sculpture or bench outside the library depicting the history of Marden etc.
Thank you for your time and if you have any thoughts/ideas, please contact Anne Boswell.
Kind regards.
