Marden will continue to bloom, thanks to sponsorship from a local housebuilder.
Jones Homes has donated £400 to the Marden In Bloom campaign to support its ongoing efforts to brighten up the village.
The developer is currently building a range of new homes at its Appledown Grange development on Howland Road.
The money will be used to purchase some bulbs for planting in the autumn, ready for flowering next spring.
Since forming in 2016, Marden In Bloom has undertaken several projects to help improve the appearance of the village.
The group of dedicated volunteers has carried out planting at various locations, tidied up open spaces around the library and memorial hall, and cleared the High Street of weeds.
The group has also led the village to success in the regional South & South East In Bloom competition, achieving a Silver Award in 2016 and a Silver Gilt in 2018.

Anne Boswell, chairman of Marden In Bloom, said: “We have brightened up and improved our village considerably since we started our campaign in 2016.
“We have engaged with so many village groups, businesses and residents, many of whom have expressed their delight at what we have achieved.
“The support of local businesses is absolutely vital to our success, so we are extremely grateful to Jones Homes for its generous contribution which will help us to make the village an even more attractive place for residents and visitors.”

Sara Stanhope, Sales and Marketing Director for Jones Homes Southern, said: “As a company, we feel it is important to give back to the local communities in which we build, so we are proud to be sponsors of Marden In Bloom.
“The campaign has had such a positive impact on the village, and we hope our donation will enable the group to continue its fantastic work.”
