Discussions are ongoing between Maidstone Borough Council and Marden Parish Council regarding the continuing overflow problems at the Marden car park. On 17 February 2014 the Prime Minister announced a new scheme to support all small and medium sized businesses in flood affected areas that have been impacted by the floods and suffered a significant loss of trade.
