The ‘Marden Business Forum Directory 2014’ has now been printed and is ready to go! But, we need some help distributing it around the Parish.

Parish Council Request

Discussions are ongoing between Maidstone Borough Council and Marden Parish Council regarding the continuing overflow problems at the Marden car park.

One of the options on the table is to have a time limited restriction, perhaps 6 hours (no return within 1 hour). This would be instead of the current restrictions of no parking from 07:15 to 08:15.

There are concerns however of the impact this will have on people working in Marden, especially the High Street.

The Parish Council would like to know which staff use the car park, when and how long for. This will help them put together a proposal of how best to move forward.

Maidstone Borough Council
Business Support

On 17 February 2014 the Prime Minister announced a new scheme to support all small and medium sized businesses in flood affected areas that have been impacted by the floods and suffered a significant loss of trade.

Maidstone Borough Council has been allocated £290,000 to support businesses through this scheme and the application process for this has been finalised. All details on how to apply for the funding are now available on the Maidstone Borough Council website at www.maidstone.gov.uk/businesssupportscheme. The deadline for applications is Friday 18^th April at 5pm.
